All the maps are currently being changed, and everybody's insurance is fixin to go up.
My surveyor had to find the high water mark this afternoon. He had to bring in a new benchmark because all the flood plains are being re-assessed. Theres nothing you can really do about it, its all a part of FEMA.
All this is required because the house has a septic tank.
But ... all the bushes, trees and bamboo were cleared and hauled off in a dump trailer yesterday. Finished in two very large trips.
Tropical storm Brett left our Tomoka River a little higher than usual. Super for launching the kayak right off the dock. But, you can see the waters creeping up against the coquina rocks.
They were put there to help stop erosion on this point. Partially, boats not observing the Slow Speed, & NO WAKE signs, help erosion do its damage MUCH faster than it would do normally naturally.
Building stops now until the Permit comes through. I am ordering the pilings right away, because they sometimes take a few weeks to arrive ... it's the same old story of Rushing, to wait!! Ha ha.
